To my knowledge Bob @ B FISH N Tackle is the owner of the only mold that produces that guard at this time.

This is kind of weird. Do-It, Barlows,…. are no longer displaying the “Y” guard on their websites. They are shown in the Do-It mold spec sheets, but not for sale on the website??? When I worked for DIY Rod & Tackle, they were readily available back then.

Thats what I thought too Randy.. I cant even find them in a black. There was a time you would find them on shelves all over

That’s correct. At one time a company out of New York used to manufacture these guards and provided them to all the tackle supply houses. About 18 months ago they discontinued the product. Since that time Bob @ BFT made his own molds and has been supplying a few other manufacturers here in the US with guards.

Since thats a Weed Weasel, I assume you tried Northland?
Dont know if these would work for you, but this place has different stiffness fibers that you glue on or add to a jig mold.

I have emailed everyone that has the that Y-weed guard on their jig BUT BfishN ,they all say there are NOT in the business to weed guards, and yes I want the Y-weed guard.

    Thanks Jeff

Trumar, I looked in my collection of “Back-stock” items. I have about 15 left in a bag that are so old, they are turning gold in color and brittle.

Thanks for motivating me to dig through all that old stuff. Found probably a few thousand spinner blades #1 through #5 in all different shapes and colors I forgot about.

I really can’t speak to this. They may or may not be willing to do so. I did the design work on the BFT Draggin’ Jig and assisted with materials sourcing so I know the story behind the availability of that guard. Can’t hurt to ask, right? The worst thing they could say is… no.

I bought about 3000 of the clear and black ones on E Bay a few weeks ago. They were orginally made for the Do-it-Mold Corp.
