We were out fishing on Thursday on Osakis. Not using the GPS feature on the I-pilot just the auto pilot. I looked at the remote and there was no signal reading or mph. I unplugged the unit and watied a few minutes and plugged it back in. Everything came back on the way it normaly does. A half hour or so later and the meter and mph was off again. Went back to the dock (it was late) and the next morning it worked just fine in fact I was using the cruise control and auto pilot and all was good for 2 hours than I lost every thing again. Any one got any ideas as to what is going on? By the way my brother was having trouble with his lowrance h20 at those same times. Did the satalite blow afuse or somthing. Oh incase anyone is interested fishing was good on osakis this week caught enough keeper eyes (one was 21″) to feed all 12 of us on Friday. Pike were hitting big time too, my son brought in a nice 8 pounder

Sounds to me you did not have adequate gps signal from the sattelites being you lost your signal meter and the H20 would not work either.

Did you have a speed set for your cruise control? If the speed was still zero it has nothing to follow and will time out.

The first time this happend I did not have a speed set but the mph was on the screen doing about 1.1mph. The second time it went down I was using the copilot and auto pilot. I got the chirp signal that there was an error and gps signal and mph was gone tried to restart and it would not come on. I hope that’s all the problem was. Satelite manfuction or somthing. I’ll be trying it out again, as soon as the weather straightens up. Suppose to rain all this week here in north centeral Iowa. Thanks for you help. Any other opinions are greatly appreciated.AL

What was your outcome? Have you given it a try since?

I am curious as to what trolling motor you have the i-pilot on? I had a very similar thing happen to me my first weekend with it. Mine ended up being with the 80lb Terrova no 60amp breaker installed and the i-pilot a dead or very weak battery.

Yep I tried it again yesterday and all was working just fine ???????. I have it on a PD V2 I’m thinking that there was some kind of interferance in the atmosphier(sp), cause my brothers H2o went wacky too on the same day in different boats. Batteries were 3/4 full on the gage, so I don’t think that was it. Going out again this weekend will put it through the paces again. will keep u all posted

The I-Pilot is working just fine must have been something in the air
