Has anybody here ever done this and have the proper procedure? I want to shorten mine as I have the shortest shaft available but still don’t like they way it sticks up too high. The head just seems to get in the way for side casting and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Randy

Then I’d be using it for and anchor instead of a trolling motor. Very skinny water.

Thanks twister, I did read that in my searches. Yep,just unsure how much the cable drive will complicate things. Guess I just need to pull off the cover and investigate.

I bought a 60″ Terrova to replace a 45″ Edge I had. The only reason I got it was because it was so much cheaper to get the iPilot pre-installed but they only do it on the 60″ versions. So i asked around and was told there was a place in Brooklyn Park and a place in Columbia Heights (Fish Lectronics). Well I took it to fish lectronics and they didn’t shorten the shaft as I had asked, they just installed it. I will now be taking it to the place in BP. I was told it would be around $40 to cut it and the warranty would still be valid. I forget the name of the place but it’s a Minn Kota authorized dealer in Brooklyn Park. You can probably find them on the MK website. Not sure how a cable drive might complicate things vs an electric drive.

If you figure it out let us know.

Josh I think the place is Performance Propeller. I think Hesse owns it. If so I know they shorten motors because I talked to him about mine at the sport show.
