I am looking at putting some guide-ons on the trailer. I am looking at the ShoreLand’r Deluxe, the one’s like Cabela’s sells.

It says it will let you set about 3″ of clearance away from the hull. Question is, how far should I set this clearance? I would assume I should set it as close as possible? How far – 1″, 1.5″,2″,etc?

    Thanks!

2 inches should be just fine.

Tight is good, especially for river landings.

Those guides saved my bacon Saturday night on the Mississippi with the wind and current. Money well spent!! 2″ should do it.

I set mine tight, but I like it that way. I also taper mine a little, tighter in front. It will depend on how centered you need it for your trailer, if being off 2″ is OK then go for it.
