Looking to switch from Spiderwire Braid to Spiderwire Stealth. On the box it indicates that it is teflon pressure treated and reduces looping/cutting on the eyes. Has anyone used this with a monofiliment leader? Was it difficult to tie back to back uni-knots (spiderwire to mono.)or other super knots due to the teflon coating? Is there a better knot to tie?
    Thanks for any info.!

I’ve done what you’re talking about trolling, lindy rigging, drop shoting, caronlina rigging, etc. I found it best to tie each end to a small barrel swivel. Makes for faster and easier reties.

i have taken the spider wire and tied a slip knot and then added a few half knots onto the same thing in the mono. seemed to work for me. never did end up catching anything with that stuff tied like that, but I would hope that it would have held up!

    Hey Mike,
I’ve tried a barrel swivel and had it catch on my rods eye-guides while tube skipping docks and pontoons (generally I use about a 6′-8′ p-line leader). For the past 3 years I have used the back to back uni knot with braid to p-line and it works well, just thought the teflon coating on the stealth may not allow me to get a good knot without possibly going to a barrel swivel. Thanks for the info, much appreciated!
