My sons boyscout troop was going threw there camping trailer tonight and found a few lanterns that would not light up real bright. Has anyone ever tried cleaning the gas valves on these or attempted any other type of maintenance? We did put new mantels on but this did not help.

Thanks. Anyone in the north metro looking to get rid of a Colemen lantern? The troop is looking to find replacements for 3 if we cannot repair them.

If the tank is a rustball, I’d find another lantern. Otherwise, you replace the pump rubber skirt and the generator and you’re probably in business. There’s a model number on them somewhere and with that you can look up what you need. The air passageway in the top can get plugged up also.

Do they pump up?Might need a new gasket. My guess they might be rusted up a little and need cleaning?Check coleman.com they sell parts and show different lanterns on there.A good plumber should be able to fix one of these I have a collection of these. Some old red and blue and green ones. etc.

Not sure of the model number but its the 2 mantel lanterns that you screw on the small green tanks. Was looking at Colemens site last night. Was a little surprised to see all the parts available and prats schematics. Thanks guys.

You have to be a little careful when you screw the bottle on those, if it is not on straight the gas will not flow. My wife cross threaded one of mine several years ago.
