Well, the only stupid question is the one that I don’t ask. All 3 of my reels are of need of some grease and oil. I don’t want to send it back in pieces to get it fixed and lubed.
Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? Thanks in advance for your time and efforts in behalf of my question.

I’m in the same boat as you. I have 4 or 5 Revo STX and have not broke into them yet myself. I can do the old Curado’s with my eyes closed. The good news is if i get into one and get lost I have others to brake into to see what is wrong. Once you get in there get as much old greese and oil out as you can. I use a spray degreeser. Them re-lube with hot sauce oil and greese. On the subject of the revo STX have you seen the new one. I just checked it out this morning at Cabela’s. They made some nice changes. I think a new one or two may have to be in the plans for this season.

I have to get mine all ready for this year also. When i get into them i’ll let ya know what worked if i can figure it out. With the new reels what specifications did they change? did they change the drag system or weight, etc…??

Thanks skeet and fishthumper. I have 4 screws out and the handle cover but it looks like a brass nut has to come off to get the cover will slide out exposing the gear that needs some grease and oil.
