Anyone have an Idea of how many hours to expect out of 2 fully charged optima batteries while using spot lock alot on the river at normal flow.Average of fishing an area for 1/2 to 1 hour at a time with a 20′ glass boat.Curious if it would be a good idea to carry spare batteries.

Inside the current seam or outside the current seam?

It’s tough to say as there are still a number of variables that are hard to account for, but I would guess a guy could get a full 7-8 hours if the water isn’t pushing too bad. If you’re going to sit in a spot for a long time it might not be a bad idea to drop anchor if the current is pushing.

Test it out and let us know.

Can’t speak about those exact specifics. However I was on the river yesterday. A lot of current and a lot of wind going in different directions. We fished for a solid 10 hours with I’d say around 7 of them using a 70# PD on a 19′ Crestliner with walk thru windshield. At the end of the day, I still had better than 40% charge on the batteries.

Now, with that being said. After yesterday, I think a 101 Terrova with iPilot is in my future.

This motor is awesome. Mine was installed about 10 days ago so my experience is limited, but what I’ve seen so far has been eally rgreat.

I have an 1880 skeeter with an 80 lb terrova I pilot and if you keep it in check it is just fine. Yeah if your trying to spotlock in the middle of crazy current it aint gonna last! If you use common sense and pay attention to what percent the motor is running at you will have no problem.
I agree with what was said before that there are too many variables there to give a valid answer, but you know what your batteries are good for and if theyre screaming all day you will have an issue?
