My strap on the standard issue protector broke, so I was looking for a replacement and came across this option.

    Has anyone tried it out?

    Looks pretty slick to me.

I had a chance to use one all winter. Very nice. No broken straps and darned secure…..moreso than I thought it would be. The only issue I had was when alot of powdery snow got on the end of wet blades in cold weather. The snap cover didn’t fit well when there was a bunch of snow/ice. That said, neither would any auger blade cover.

Tested on 5-10 mile rides on rough ice on the back of a snowmobile.

I went back to the orig one. The snap cap worked great in the garage but on the ice the surface wasn’t nice & flat, didn’t snap on very easy especially with any ice build up on the blades. For sale….$15 + shipping. Fits 8″ auger.

Even when the blades were lined up north/south? I experienced the same issues at first, then just made sure that portion of the auger flighting closest the blades were what the snap cover tabs covered. Didn’t experience issues after that unless covered with snow as mentioned.
