As I am digging out the boat, I remember last year of popping my breaker (when full power for a long period) on my 24 volt Minn-Kota maxxumm 80 t-motor. It would only happen on my one batter/breaker and the other was fine. My question is, what size breaker can I go up to for the motor. I would like to go up in size so the problem goes away but do not want to go too high. Help!

    On a side note,
Make sure you clean off all corrosion from all your connections, as this creates resistance and ups the amps(heat)-this will pop your breakers or worse-cook your motor. Clean them until they shine and check them often.
I learned this the hard way.

You can get a 60 amp breaker at Fleet Farm for around $40. It isn’t a Minnkota but looks the same or try Amazon.com.

Fleet Farm in Brooklyn Park has both the Minn Kota and “generic” version. They’re exactly the same (same manufacturer number even), and the “generic” is a buck cheaper.
