I have one of the 6’9″ Medium Light Jigging/Rigging rods. Great rod, like it alot for rigging. Id definitely recommend these rods. With that being said, my Techna AVs are all bait casters so i cant compare the Elite Tech walleye to an AV spinning rod. However, the Elite Tech walleyes are better than the GT, HMX, and HMG rods. If you have the extra money and really want the cats meow, pick up an Elite Tech Drop Shot rod. Extra 80-100 bucks but they are a phenominal rod.

I have many of the HMV’s and HMG’s and the elites are suppose to be even better then these. So i would highly recommend them.

Eyes, many guys on this site are St. Croix Rod fans. If you “like” St. Croix rods, you’ll absolutely “love” the Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye Series rods. All the rods in the Elite Tech Walleye series are specifically designed for we Walleye Guys and the conditions under which we fish. The sensitivity is super and the TAC handles are really comfortable when fishing in rain. The 6′-9″ Elite Tech EWS69ML-F spinning rod with 10/4 Fireline Crystal works extremely well for pitching blades. The 6′-6″ Elite Tech EWS66ML-F spinning rod with 10/4 Fireline Crystal does a super job for vertical jigging. I have been using Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye rods since September 2008 and cannot say enough about them. Try any one in the series–you will not be disappointed.

Dr. J I held a few of these rods today and fell in love with them. They had the same feel as my Avid lightweight plenty of backbone. Very nice rods. Anybody wanna buy an Avid. Smackem thats why I bought St. Croix rods before and maybe still will. I like the made in the USA thing but I realized these Fenwicks seem to be made similar to the Avids but about $30-50 cheaper. Plus I love my Shimano reels and I’m pretty sure they’re not made here. Don’t know of too many reels that are. Ardent maybe?

I just ordered a new Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye 6’3″ M-XF for jigging. Super rod for under a 100 bucks (on-line).
