Trying to get the T-8 sparkling again. Anybody have a suggestion for getting that exhaust line off the plastic.

I tried a clear coat safe rubbing compound and it looks better but I’d like it cleaner.

    Thanks!

As long as it isnt to terriable of a stain Bass Boat Saver should take it off. You can also use vinager. Light dose of vinager to clean it up and come back over it with bass boat saver to give it the shine back and you should be good to go

Meguire’s clay bar would be my first guess/attempt if Bass Boat saver doesn’t take it off.

WonderFoam from Larsen Sales is hands down the best I have ever found. http://www.larsensales.com After back to back tourneys on Green Bay and Winnebago this summer I had a scum line that I could not get off with all the tricks I have found over the years until I got ahold of these products.I was so impressed I tried to become a dealer for them but they pretty much just sell direct to consumers.I bought four bottles last time so if nothing else I can get you hooked up if you are skeptical.Give them a call and tell them I sent you as I would still like to carry this product.

Engine Bright works great! It even took off 2 year old river stain off the boat.

Above are good suggestions also, here’s what I have done for years for comparison. I use straight vinegar and wash it off with a bug pad and then hose off. If really bad I will use straight CLR (Calcium, Lime and Rust) and wash off immediately but don’t use this on the hood.

Once you have it clean hit it with two coats of wax and this will keep the stain managable.

Good luck – those T8’s look sharp when they are clean!

I agree with Brett. If these products don’t take it off it probably isn’t coming off without damaging the finish. The Wonderfoam and Restore are the best I’ve found also.
