Anyone know if you can use the existing wires from your battery to trolling motor on a 12volt system to a 24 volt system? Can i just wire the batteries in series and use the positive on one battery the negitive on the other and use a jumper across the other neg to pos., Then the existing wiring would be hooked up and i can use the same plug, any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes you can, just the way you described it, as long as you’re using a simple 2-wire plug and socket (no internal jumpers). Make sure you have the correct size circuit breaker, as long as you’re upgrsding the TM.

Yes you can, in fact a 24 volt motor will use less current than a 12 volt system so technically you could use a smaller gauge wire. Just make sure you have a circuit breaker installed at the battery.

Not sure that is true. I’ll tell you that a 24 volt set up will push more amps than a 12 volt. That is the reason you need a heavy guage wire.
