Lowrance X38HD

Have a question for anyone that might have this problem. On my X38 (which I just got this spring) When operating the map either in full window or split window with sonar when going from zoom-in or zoom-out it is very slow to change. I get the words “working” up in the upper left corner. Is this normal? Also when running if I have the screen zoomed in to much my plotter trail doesn’t even show up until I zoom out 1 or 2 times. I didn’t know if it sounds like I need an update from Lowrance for this thing or what. Glenn

I also own a 38 & have found some issues when using some high definition map cards. There is so much data it takes time to load when you have the unit zoomed in so it seems to stall. The memory is not sufficient to load that much data quickly. I do not have the problem when I am running off the internal hard drive.

All that said I upgraded to software to ver. 2.5 and have seen fewer issues since.
