I am seriously considering buying a portable ice shanty. My main constraint is room in the trunk of my car. For this reason I’m looking at the Shapell S2000 shanty. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this particular shanty, and what they thought of it.

I have had both the S3000 and the DX4000 and really liked them. They are a good house for the money.
No experience with the S2000 though.

I have an s2000. It all depends waht you want to do with it, its not as mobile as some, but sets up pretty quick. And like you said, she fits good in the trunk of a car, was a big plus for me. If you want to fish with two guys and all the goodies heater, finder etc, better get a bigger one. It’s fine for two medium sized guys, but its tough to fish with all 4 holes going. All in all, good investment for the money.

I have the 3000 fish house and really like it. You just have to tie the truck lid down and it should stay put. The only drawback to it is on the outside of the box it shows whats in the box and no matter how hard I looked I could not fine that good lookin blonde that was shown on the box anywhere inside the box. Nice house and easy to pull and sets up real quick. Thanks, Bill

Well I think I’m sold. Now all I have to do is sneak the expense by my girlfriend.

    Thanks a lot

my experience is that it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission…..buy now, pay later
