Has anyone done their own install of a sea star steering retrofit? My freind has a Lund with a 150 Suzi 4 stroke he is wanting to upgrade to the seastar. Any info appreciated.

I’ve done a full system flush on 2 Sea Star units and it was easy. They have great instruction and made it easy to do. I’m confident that doing an install could easily be done. Getting the proper kit and all the parts to do the install would be key. I’m guessing if you gave yourself an entire Saturday you could do it with 2 guys.

I did my own on a merc about 3 years ago. Yes it took awhile to do, it took awhile to read all the instructions, but the results are nothing short of phenomenal. I did mine myself for the most part. I had a cable going bad so I thought about it and decided for the work involved in just the cable I might as well live first class. No regrets, easier than power steering on a 76 chevy.

Got mine off of the bay site and saved a ton.

    You will like the results.
