I have a 2003 trailer with brakes. Everything use to work. When I back up the brakes stay on, Any ideas?

Do you have an emergency backup switch? Maybe the celunoid(sp) is shot. Had same problem on my Ranger trailer and the cel wasn’t working. Replaced the thing and it worked great. Hopefully this helps, Dan

nitro i am assumming you have disc brakes on your trailer. so if all your lights are working the possible problem you would have is the brake solenoid which shuts off the brake fluid going to the brakes because if that isn’t working you won’t be able to back up ..to check the problem out you’ll need a test light which will help considerably..good luck

There should be a small hole up by the coupler that you can put a pin in that will keep the trailer from sliding forward making the breaks lock up while you are backing up. I had the same problem with my 2004 Warrior. It ended up being a short in the plug, Warrior had it fixed same day for me….great service…..Good Luck!
