When I was in Prairie Du Chien I did not notice if they had boat service but if they do, they should be able to fix it a whole lot cheaper than buying one that is comparable. Anyway all you need to do is find some place that services Minnkota products.

Unless of course you just want to upgrade. I have a Maxxim 80 with US2 that I am very happy with. It is very quiet and will pull my boat around all day without killing the batteries. I tried a PowerDrive and just could not get acustomed to the steering. I have heard the Trovera (spelling?) are easier to steer but I am not going to change right now. Good luck with your choice.

IIRC someone on here just replaced a board on a power drive for around $80, that was the part alone, call minn kota, I think parts are usually fairly reasonable, I’ve replaced boards and autopilots in power dive’s it was simple and easy, so I can;t say for sure on a maxxum, but I bet it’s not too hard.

I’m sure any service center can do it too, Minkota can help you find one if you want to go that route.

If you do replace it, look at a Fortrex. I love mine. Don’t think a fix will cost much compared to having to replace it.

I have teh same motor, and I want to say that it cost me abotu $200 to have the entire guts of the foot pedal replaced at Motor Clinic in Bloomington. The parts weren’t much less than that at retail, so I just had them do the work. But it has been bullet proof since then.
