Cool product,I was out with Tim Chapman a few years ago on Mille Lacs and he used one of these tools so you didn’t even have to touch the fish with your hands.

Brian – I’ve got a lip grip without the scale that I got for catfishing and I couldn’t get it to hold on Channel cats or Flatheads. Their mouths just wouldn’t allow the lip grip to hold. I was disappointed with the product.

Brian, it’s for fish, not grandkids!

Seriously, I don’t know. Probably not but Ryan or I can check with Berkley if you’re interested.

I have a Lip Grip and love it. You never have to touch the fish. I also have a digital scale what I do is just hang the lip grip and fish on the scale. The lip grip has a weight of 11oz. It is alot cheaper and I think it’s just as good.

You guys know me too well I’ll have to get a bigger net for grandkids though…(I don’t have any…yet).

Sounds like Bassmaster has the right idea then. Use a net for the cats and then attach a scale to the net. If I recall right, DirkW used that method. He had a spring scale.

I’m going to need something that will weigh a fish over 70 lbs….I too am a positive thinker! I do like the thought of digital…takes the guess work out and you don’t need a light…at night.
