I am running a 1996 Evinrude 115 and it seems to be only using the gas from the pump ball to the motor. If I then pump the ball I have to squeeze it really hard and then it feels like it pops and I will be able to feel the gas start to flow again and the motor will run fine until it uses that gas again. So my question is What is bad? Is it the pump ball in the gas line, or is it something else?

Had the same thing happen on my 95 evin 115. Theres a ball inside the ball that keeps the gas from going back into the tank. The ball was old and I just replaced it. It worked perfect after that. hopefully this helps, Dan

I’d start by replacing the ball and see if that does it. Cheap fix if it works!

I agree start with the fuel line, I like to replace the line and bulb, the line goes bad at some point too.

Not real sure about that motor, but I know similar simptom happen in some yamaha’s when the fuel pumps get weak.

I changed the ball and it seems to have fixed the problem.

    Thanks for the input guys!!!
