Need some trouble shooting expertise. My 24-volt Maxxum trolling motor is not generating full power. I initially thought it might be the batteries, so tried new batteries and having the same issue. Through out the power ranges from 0-100, the motor will turn but only at about half power/speed.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. It is only a year old and should be under warranty, but if I can save a trip to the dealership/authorized warranty center I’d rather try to solve any potential “user errors” first. Thanks for the help.

i would try checking the wiring to both batteries…If you have a fuse link on the positive side of the battery you my want to check that out too …

    Right on.
I had the same problem and the speed selector was bad. If under warrenty take it in. It’s a pain but better that doing something that voids the warrenty.

I appreciate the advice…The foot pedal sounds like the culprit as the “MOM” setting stopped working today as well.

Don’t know where you are located but if you are in the metro area the Motor Clinic in Bloomington does great work and is a Minkota authorized repair location. My Maxxuum went out and they had it back to me in less than a week and it was as good as new. They also have about ever Minkota part in stock which is nice this time of year!
