Merc Losing Prime?

I have a 2000 Merc 150 two stroke that has recently begun to lose pressure on the fuel bulb when at low rpm/idle. Cannot see any obvious sign of cracking or leaking in the fuel line. What is the most likely cause of this problem? It is getting progressively worse over a short time period.
I will replace the fuel line and bulb, but are there other things that could cause this?
    Thanks!

How old is it? I replaced the fuel line in my 115 Mercury last year. When running, it would shut down like someone pulled the kill switch. Pumped up the bulb and it would start back up. First replaced the female connector at the motor thinking there was a leak there. Finally replaced the whole line and no more problems.

I have found a few very slow leaks over the years by having a friend squeeze the bulb very hard and myself carefully looking “upstream”, including under the cowl of the motor…

I had this same problem earlier this year, losing prime at idle. After replacing the line and buld the problems continued, I replaced the tank and the problem went away. The tank was 15 years old, I’m pretty sure it had a leak around the gas guage. Good Luck!

John, I found an air leak on mine a couple of weeks ago.It was the fuel pump cover that was leaking.I put on a new plastic cover and o-ring and it runs much better.I don’t know if your 200 would be set up the same as my 80 or not but it might be worth a look.I had a buddy pump my bulb while I looked for leaks around the motor .

    Rick,
