I have a Merc 9.9 2 stroke on my boat (600lb boat) and I think I need to re-prop the boat to get better performance. Right now I have a 9 pitch on the boat and it doesn’t get on plane. I’m planning on going down in pitch, but how far? 7 or 8? I’d like to try this before I buy a new motor as I plan on getting a new boat in the next year.

I’m thinking you’re asking too much from your 9.9 here. 600# boat, plus battery, fuel, gear, people….you should be able to lift the bow slightly but I doubt you can ever get it on a full plane.

I agree. I had a 14′ lund boat and I to had a 9.9hp on it and there was no way that you would have been able to get it up on plane. Maybe you should put a 100hp merc on it then it would really fly but then again I have been called crazy a few times in my life.
