I wonder if they intend to bring this product out in the smaller line diameters? Right now it’s all the heavy stuff:

    Quote:

FireLine XDS is ideal for baitcast reels. Line sizes are 35-pound test with 12-pound diameter, 50/15, 65/17, 80/20 and 100/30. The suggested retail price of a 150-yard spool starts at $21.99, starting at $41.99 for a 300-yard spool and starting at $131.99 for a 1000-yard spool.

It sounds like they finally addressed some of the weak points of fireline. I’d like to get my hands on this stuff in the 2 Lb diameter if it ever becomes available.

I’d even settle for some 3 or 4 lb for jigging and 6 or 8 lb for trolling cranks in snaggy bottom areas on the river. I used the 3 and 4 lb this year for jigging and love it as it increases my reflexs [not as young as Nate]. Plus didn’t lose jigs either. Now if they would just have the improved stuff in those sizes. Thanks, Bill

Guys, I spoke to Scott Reed of Berkley today and they are not planning to manufacture the XDS in smaller line diameters. Scott says he loves the XDS for Musky, especially jerk baits. He also says it’s a great salt water line, of course. He said that the regular Firelines should sure do the trick if your looking for smaller diameter.

Also, for anybody looking for information on Berkley products, check with Ryan Hale. He does a lot of testing of the Berkley products and he’ll definately shoot you a straight answer.

    Thanks,

    Wade

Now if he could only shoot me some straight 3 and 4 lb line that would be great. Thanks for the info Wade. Thanks, Bill

Bill, if you’re nice enough to Ryan he just might be able to work something out. Christmas is right around the corner you know…

It might take more than Santa to get me the line when they don’t make it. Thanks, Bill
