I’ve had good luck the last year with the Strike King redeye shad. They are something a little different. They come with quality hooks, so you don’t have to change them out like with some of the cheaper baits. Can’t go wrong with the standard Bill Lewis rattletrap either. I am a believer in having several different styles and brands with me. Some work better than others on any given day. They all have a different sound. The Lucky Craft brand catch fish, but are very expensive!!

I normally use the Hot Spot or Super Spot. I have also had some good luck this year with the Flotting RattleTrap

I second the Red-Eye Shad, I like it a lot. I think it’s good to have a few different brands, they all have their benefits…

Have not tried the red eyed shad as they are kinda pricey. I like super spots as they are quite a bit lighter than most of the other similar baits. You will lose less fish with these baits due to the fish having less leverage when it jumps and flings the bait back and forth. Cordell used to make an Excaliber super spot which I liked a lot and had excaliber hooks. The newer baits do not have these hooks and I have heard that they are cheaper hooks. I usually need to replace my crankbait hooks after a few trips anyway so this is not much of an issue. You can find these anywhere from $1-$3.

have you guys checked out those new rapala clacker raps? they sure are loud just by shaking them…

and that moss back shiner is a new addition to the color schemes… and every time i go to the store to get one, they are always sold out! and i havent seen the firetiger ones either, now that i think of it.

but i like the strike king red eyes in the sexy shad color.. KVD made a winner with that bad boy!

XCalibur Xr75’s, 50’s and One Knockers get my nod.

The Red Eyes are good as well.

The Stike King Red Eye Shad series is becoming a favorite in my book.

Some one mentioned cost, they are cheaper than a lot of the other rattle traps on the market and they run straight.

So far Mike and I have taken Bass, Pike, and Walleye casting the Strike Kings.
My favorite colors now are, Bleeding Shad, Sexy Shad, Chartreuse Baitfish and the Gold Black.

Yep, another plano has been added to the collection
