Fleetfarms near the Mississippi River have been the only places I’ve found it. Recently Dusin did a web search and was forced to buy it directly from Berkley through “Angler Services” as no other on-line outlet for the product could be found. The last quantity I found was in the Lakeville Fleetfarm… and I bought all of it. That was about 3 weeks back. It is not widley known that this product even exists. Last season at the Minneapolis sports show I went to the Berkley booth and asked if they had a quantity at the show as I was looking to buy up a bunch of it. The rep told me that no such product existed. I literally had to go out to my truck to produce a spool for him to believe me… lol Quite frustrating and funny at the same time. Afterwards we ended up chatting for some time about the hi-vis lines. You should have seen his face (all in good friendly humor, I assure you) when I asked him if there was anything else he wanted to know about the berkley product line before I took off.

    Priceless!

    Something I forgot to add…

The sensation hi-vis has been working out well for us in the cold temps and has shown itself to be a strong line. It is NOT as resistant to abrasion as the DQ’d solar so be aware of the need to check your line for nicks and the need to retie after hoisting any fishing into the boat without a net when the ringie has been engulfed. This line seems to be suspectible to sudden failure after a little abuse. Nothing worse than only getting to feel “one big head shake” before the line parts!

Overall I think its a good product but both Dustin and I have noticed this little quirk and have paid for not checking the line often by loosing a couple big fish each.

    Hysterical!

Ryan, you’ll have to pass that one on to Scott.

And Ryan, What’s your finders fee on this product? $100? $200??

And James, stop buying up all the line so nobody else gets any! Nobody likes a fishing line hog!

    LOL

If I could get by butt out of this office for the 20 minutes it would take to lay hands on it I would likely go get it too!

Hey thanks everyone for the advice, I am only 5 minutes from Fleet Farm so took Dave G’s advice and ran out there. Got two of each, 6 and 8. They are just in process of stocking new line, all brands, dont know if they will be putting anymore solar up, no one around, but boxes setting around.
I have paid that price you mention James, lost biggest one of the nite last time out. Set the hook, two head shakes and it broke off just ahead of the jig, 6 lb test solar, so thought I would jump up to eight. Dustin seems to really like the eight. Will also be retying more.
    Thanks again everyone

With the Solar we fish 6Lb… Sensation we go 8 Lb. The line diameter is the same for the two lines and that’s really what we look at more than anything. Too much time spent matching jig weights to line diameter to get the right speed & drift to go and relearn all that.

The 8 Lb Sensation H-Vis is the same diameter as the DQ’d 6 LB Solar XT. Neither Dustin or I ever use the 6 Lb diameter Hi-Vis Sensation.

I stopped at Bass Pro last week in Chicago and they haven’t ben able to get it for months. Funny… Fleet Farm has stock. I just ordered a few spools myself, I was impressed with the way it held up to the cold the last time I was out fishing with Jarrad in 15 degree temps.

For anlgers in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities area…Sportsman’s Warehouse (Coon rapids) had a bunch of it 2 days ago.

Also, Joe’s Sporting Goods (St. Paul)had a bunch on Saturday morning as well.
Both stores had plenty of 6# and 8# Hi-Vis.
