Both the tires on my boat trailer are worn on the outside.

Is this from improper tire pressure or something else?

The tires are Goodyear and they are 5 years old.

well most the time inside wear means bent/warped axle. how have you had the trailer? Could have some one rotated the axle top to bottom at one time ? Do you run propper air pressure ? If NOT,,, you should.

5 years is pushing it, you may have warped or slightly bent axle, Kraemer Spring in St Paul could probably check it. Warped like your humor

I have the same thing on my 2002 trailer…I have Goodyear 13″ radial tires on it…I new they were getting worn down and I changed them out…Hind site…I will rotate these tires every year…I look at it as an easy fix… I really do not think there is anything wrong with yours either..

    That’s just my thoughts..

Being that both tires are worn on the outside would it matter if you rotated them?

I wore a set of new tires like that after just two trips, 5 or 600 miles. I took the trailer to Royal Tire in St. Cloud thinking I must have bent an axle or stub. They told me the alignment was fine, the tires were just cheap junk. I have not since had a problem with the tires they sold me.

Sorry to hijack this string, but does anyone know who carries Maxxis tires in the TC. I need to replace mine, and I am going away from Goodyear if possible.

I had this same problem with my tracker trailer tires, wearing on the inside. Nobody at the dealership seemed to mind that I was eating thru these tires, so I alled the factory and complained to them, they had the dealer ship put on a hole new axle just to have the same thing happen! 2 new good years solved the problem same tires 3rd season no strange wear patterns at all! I’d say after 5 season your about due

$3 or $3.50 to have them remounted at WalMart, is what I was thinking of…funny…sometimes my fingers don’t type what i’m thinking…I have the same issues while talking to my wife

I have yet to see a trailer wear tires evenly. Realistically minor uneven wear is going to happen. I buy high quality tires (Goodyear), occasionally rotate from side to side and plan to replace every 4-6 years.
