I am excited to put in my first locator that has a GPS. I have an Alumacraft Navagator with full windshield. I plan on putting the puck on the gunwale next to the motor controls next to the console. Good? Any better places? Anyone have any tips or warnings, or should I just put ‘er in and hit the water? I am especially looking forward to having the Lake of the Woods map. No more rocks taking out the lower unit…maybe.

That should be fine. The only issue with puck placement is line of site with the sat. typically anywhere with a direct view of the sky is fine. Congrats on your new graph and good luck fishing.

I stole this idea from IDO’er smithkeith. I can adjust the
height to keep the puck under my travel cover and raise it
back up in a second at the lake!!

Total cost with mounting hardware was about 30.00.

    Thanks Keith!!
