Trying to get a concensus of what size Precision jigs guys like to use for pitching ring worms? I know that there is a time and place for all sizes; but I am looking for a good place to start and bulk up on colors! I know that the jigs that I was using this weekend were just not cutting it! Time to get the ones that do the job right! I have my order half way placed on their site; just need this last piece of info to finalize my order. Thanks in advance for any suggestions that you may have!

For pitching I use mainly 1/8oz or 3/16oz, but that does change depending on depth and flow.

Recently, I’ve been pitching 1/8 and 3/16 oz heads with good success. A guy could go to 1/4 if you’re fishing a deep current seam, but the lighter heads have been working well in areas I’ve been fishing lately.

If you’re looking ahead to dragging, then you’ll want 1/16 and 3/32 precision heads for clean bottom areas, and 1/16 oz Draggin Jigs for snaggy spots.

Thanks for those quick responses! I can now pull the trigger on that order that I have been building. After this I’ll probably have to break down and get some blade-baits aswell!?!?!

The blade baits were hot last week.

I agree with the others on jig sizes too.

low flow it’s always 3/32 and 1/8th, higher flow (between now and late fall) will be 1/8th, 3/16th and 1/4’s.

How much line do you have to put out when draggin? Do you feel the bottom? I have tried it upstream and it never feels like I am down there. Thanks, didnt mean to hi jack the post but the question is related.

I like 3/16 here on the Lake, and bigger depending on current flow on the Rainy River!!

Ditto. 1/8, 3/16/ and 1/4. That will get you started. I like orange for a good summer color.
