Anyone have any insight on balancing a Rod….I’ve heard of reduced fatigue and increased sensitivity….Please reply and give me some feedback if it is worth the hype.

I think the most important thing is selecting the proper reel for the rod and balancing the combo that way. Most of the top end rod and reels are very light and I can’t imagine adding more weight to get it balanced. I would rather select a reel that balances the rod and not add anymore weight.

I know guys who use rod balancers on all there setups and say they would not fish a rod without them. Unless the rod is way tip heavy I can not see it being that big of a deal. I have checked each of my set ups and each seem to balance good just the way they are. With how light rods have become they tend to be way to rear end heavy if anything. The only set up that I currently have a balancer on is my Jig and pig setup and that is due to how tip heavy my old jig rod is.

i have rod balancers on about 95% of my rods. the only rods i dont have them on are rods that i fish topwaters or jerkbaits with.
