U.S. Reel-Anyone Try One?

They have been advertising them pretty strong for a while now. Wide spool, supposed to cast far. Seems like wide spool would need wide first rod-guide to work correctly?
Anyone try one? Feedback? How’s the drag work?

I was able to mess around with one at a store I worked at when they first came out.
We spooled one up with 17# mono and had it in the parking lot flipping a 1/4 oz weight 150 feet with just a flick of the wrist

I had one took it back and got a Pfluger. The drag on it was terrible not very smooth. It did cast good but the other features just weren’t to the quality of a pfluger, quantium, or shimano. but just my opinion on them.

I never got to try it out on the water, and was always wondering what the drag was like on them

Can’t vouch for performance, but if price is any indication they should be OK. U.S. Reel is somewhat of a misnomer. One would think their products are red, white and blue. Not so! Made in China. Difficult to understand how stuff made with such cheap labor can be so pricey.

I’ve owned one for a couple years now. Bought it for throwing bomb casts with jerkbaits for smallmouth in clear waters of Sturgeon Bay. Haven’t used it a lot, but seems to perform well. I usually fish with a tight drag and backreel when necessary, so no input on the drag system.
