    Hey VC,
Depending on where you live. I know that lowrance is conducting training seminars for those who purchased HDS units. I have found that hands training works better for us old guys!

I am working on one but I need to use the HDS on the water before I finish my HDS Instructional DVD.

Heh Doc, I saw your DVDs on “Jolly Ann’s” site. (it finally came to me where I saw them) Should I wait until you are finished with your new DVDs for the HDS-5 or are the older ones good enough ? ? ? Thanks for your hard work at puttin’ these things together for us less technical guys.
    Thanks again, VC-13 Mike

The Lowrance Instructional Series is for LMS and LCX models not HDS. The menus are different. You need to wait for the HDS series.
The Understanding Sonar and Interpreting the Display series is for any sonar model. I have used Lowrance color recordings but they work for black and white plus other companies color sonar because all sonar is displayed as target strength and target distance from the transducer. We adjust the sensitivity, depth range, Colorline (grayline) and other features to change the display screen. Jolly Ann Marine both series all my DVDs.

I hate to be over anxious, but it is almost that time of year…..My step-granddaughter and myself are goin’ over to Cabelas this morning to pick-up the HDS-5 and some other gear. I was just wondering what your time frame is going to be for the HDS DVDs ? Thanks for the fast responce…….

Instructional DVDs are very time consuming to produce and I also need to use it on the water for awhile before I produce the DVD. I won’t predict the release date because my previous predicted release dates of my Instructional DVDs have been wrong!

Here’s those sonar DVDs Doc mentioned:

Like Doc said the sonar DVDs are good for any unit you run. I’ve watched them myself more than once and they are definitely worth watching.

And VC, Jolly Ann Marine has that HDS-5 at a heck of a nice discount price. You do have to look in the shopping cart to see the final sale price after discounts, but it might be worth you while. That is, unless you have a bunch of Cabelas points to spend. I just spent a couple hundred on some cranks and plastics. Gotta love those points!

Anyway, here’s the link if you want to check the pricing. Again, the discount price will show in the shopping cart only: Jolly Ann Lowrance HDS-5.
