I am looking for a new project boat; as my last one has run out of it’s useful life! I have seen a few Ranger 1600 V II’s for sale from time to time and wonder if anyone has any experience with them? How would they handle medium sized water with a little chop? Do they have any storage to speak of? What were they initailly intended for? Is it just a tiller Bass Boat? Keep in mind I am just looking for something to tinker with during the evening and/or winter months. This is not going to be my everyday boat or something that I am looking to take on Superior with. Thanks for any input!

Great rigs, I sold mine to my buddy last year due to the limited storage. They have a 6 ft rod locker(too small), live well and one other dry storage comp. I had a Yami 50 2 stroke (tiller) and she would go 35mph. Been on Mille lacs in 3 footers, handles really well. Overall a great fishing boat, not ample storage is the only complaint. I re-did the boat as well, new carpet, seat bases, built fuel cell, new dash board. Good luck and post some pics when you get her done.
