I found out in a round a bout way that you should not pump the gas ball hard. Pump it just enough so that gas is entering the motor. This is for balls with a yellow ring around it. If you pump it hard it may flood the engine. This particular model has carburation. This may be true for the 75 hp model also. It might also be true for Yamahas that are four stroke carburated.

I was taking to a mechanic the other day and learned something new for me. He told me that when I squeese the bulb, to always hold the bulb so that the fuel line is straight up and down. Has to do with air getting trapped in the bulb. Thats what he told me anyway.
