HDS 8 lowrance

Has anyone previewed the new HDS 8 yet?

Jake, They just started shipping. I know of a few IDO members who purchased one from us but they are just landing in their hands this week. We should start getting some feedback soon if these guys get a chance to get on the river. The new units looks pretty sweet!

Got one for you,hopefully you can help. Just got my new boat in. I’m running a Yami 225 4 stroke on a 619 Ranger. My previous 2 Rangers have had the digital Yami gauges. This one has Ranger gauges. What I’m looking for is a way to watch my hours on the engine. Is that available with the NEAMA interface in my Lowrance units. Do I have to add anything to the unit to actually hook up to the engine so it can send the info. I appreciate any help. Thanks-Glenn

You do have the ability to hook up an engine interface cable from your F225 into the Lowrance network.

Are you sure your Ranger gauges won’t give you hours?

I think Wade has the cables if you’re interested.

Thanks for the great info. According to the tech at my dealer he said the only way to get my hours the way it is now is for them to hook it up to their computer. Very inconvinent especially when breaking in the motor. I’ll look into that cable. Thank-Glenn

That Yami cable that Dan pointed out at Cabelas should do the trick if you have the RED connectors.
