    First post….

With all the closeouts on the LCX-27C’s and 28C HD’s it’s time I upgrade. What are the major differences between the 27C and 28C HD? Thanks!

    Welcome!

LCX-27= 7 inch screen with no internal hard drive.

LCX=28HD= 7 inch screen with an internal hard drive.

    Check for the comparison.

The 28 has a 7-inch screen also. The only difference in the two is the pre-load maps and internal hard drive on the 28C.

Does the pre-loaded Lowrance maps compare to the Lake Master maps (contours, markings, etc.). Also, how does the 20 degree cone work for waters 10′ or less (I fish a lot in shallow waters)?

    Thanks again!

Not really. The Lakemaster maps are more detailed and accurate than what you’ll find on the pre-loaded mapping.

The 20 degree cone works quite well for shallow water but if you want to cover more area you could always go with the dual frequency transducer. I prefer the 20 degree 200khz for most freshwater situations.
