Use seafoam sparingly. Remember that the oil is added to gasoline for lubrication of metal parts and seafoam will dilute the oils capacity to lubricate. IMO seafoam should be used only if there is a possibility of stale gasoline running through the engine or possibly once per season to remove varnish.
I think I have to disagree with this, pretty much everything I’ve read says differently, (not being an oil technician) A quick search came up with this thead. Seafoam is oil, now it won’t replace the oil you are suppose to mix in, but it shouldn’t in anyway reduce it’s lubrucation ability, (it’s actually suppose to help it) http://romps.com/?p=26 I suppose the proper way to add it would be add the gas and seafoam to a proper level then add the oil, so you have one gallon of gas/seafoam versus 1 gallon plus some seafoam.
And in fact it their claims are true, seafoam may give you the benefit of helping prevent detonation, which I assume is the reason they want you to run 92.
Overall I run seafoam for a couple reasons myself, to make sure the gas is stabilized and to reduce any carbon buildup, I use it as a preventive not as a fix.
I have to say mine lazer mag is a couple years old (3 years)it’s quite possible they have changed the engines a bit since….
All that being said I’ll bet you well within the minority of auger owners that care that much, and should have a fine running machine for many, many years.
