Wade I used both the low-vis and hi-vis Ironsilk this year.Of course only in the 6-8# test range.I would not go with the low-vis stuff as the dye they used to color this line can break down the line after use.Infact I had a reel spooled with the low-vis stuff and after a few months of use this line was junk.I told Scott Reed from Berkley about this problem and they came up with a dye problem.I have not had a problem with the hi-vis line.Best of luck.

Ryan, let us know if you hear anything from Scott about plans to correct this for next season please.

    Thanks for the honest review!

If my memory is correct isn’t the hi-vis line a new name for the solar green xt line? I have used the solar green for years. In 8 and 10 lb line size for walleyes that is. Thanks, Bill

Yes Bill, you can get the hi-vis(mono)in the Ironsilk and Sensation lines. Also they have lime green in Fireline but this will fade a little after use.

Got to ask the question. Ironsilk, Sensation,XT solar green…ARE THEY ALL THE SAME ????? Are we the ones getting hooked so to speak? I don’t get the chance to fish that often much less the chance to do product comparasions. It has been said more than once 80-some % of the tackle is designed to catch fisherman.

Solar XT is no longer sold so cross that one off.
Ironsilk, low vis and hi-vis,2-3 more abrasion resistant than other “tough” lines, smooth line surface, tough as Iron-smooth as Silk.
    Sensation,clear,green,photochromic,solar,ultra-sensitive,ultra strong line,thin diameter,excellent manageability.
That’s the by the book product details.Berkley does a great job at making alot of great lines for different applications. To me line is not a product designed to “catch” us fishermen. Some lines do things better than other lines.
