A month ago I picked up a Cabellas model 7″ screen. It was on sale for 149. Plus they had a online coupon for another 30 off. I used it 5 times. On sunny/partly cloudy days, I had a great picture even at 25 fow. 10 to 15 min before sunset, It would start to get dark. I was able to see my bait by turning the lights up slightly, stopping before the zoo plankton snow filled the screen. The fish were harder to see and most of the time I could only see the shine from the gills flaring when they bit. That lasted til dark, before the snow was to much.
I saw the video Brian K made with the “darkwater” camera from marcum. With the help of forum member Kooty, who spotted one on Craigs list, I picked up a marcum 380 for $200. . The 380 list price is about $400, but they have been on sale for $240, if you can find them. I fish morning and evenings enough that I want a light to at least check bottom content etc. in the dark. The cabellas camera is nice for daytime use, esp. for the price. Personally, I would be patient and watch CL and stores for sales. I am taking the marcum out today, I don’t think I will be disappointed.
If you are interested I will sell you the Cabellas camera I have for what I paid for it, around 125$ with tax. I have it boxed up ready to go back. I live in lakeville, shoot me a pm if interested.
