My guess is that is last years model as it is 1500 watts, and the new models 2000 I believe. Nonetheless, a GREAT price!

Tuck, it’s the older model without the True Color option but it’s still a great price on a solid flasher. Good information, Mike!

The unit Im using is the older model without the upgrade. Like you guys said still a very good unit. Wonder if they will let you use the $20 store coupon on this also?

i was just at cabelas in owatonna on friday and saw that price on the factory repairs in the bargain cave. just thought you guys should know that if you are looking at these. not that theres a problem with factory repairs from marcum, but its still nice to know what you are getting.

I understand the LX-3 tc has more power and improved colors, but on the ice how does it compare with the LX-3 or the LX-5? Basically looking to upgrade sharpness and zoom from an FL-18. Will the LX-3 or LX-3 tc do that and if so, how much? Or just go for it all with the LX-5?

A typical season up here will include walleyes and pike in 7-35′, crappies in 20-45′ and lake trout in 30-100′. Additionally I’d like to use the unit as a summer flasher for vertical jigging in 20-50′ as well. I know my brother’s LX-5 causes major interference with FL-18’s in rock lined lake trout lakes. If close enough to communicate he can usually improve that with the IR button depending on how rocky. He is usually scorned when fishing around Vexilars. Guess that can be good or bad!!

At 1st I was going to say LX-3 TC for you, but with fishing those Lakers a dual cone would be a big plus for you. A LX-3 TC or an LX-5 will blow you away compared to your FL-18. You can move the zoom on both the LX-3 TC and the LX-5 anywhere in the water column. The display is much more chrisp and clear, target seperation is also much better and ofcourse the interfearance rejection system is way better.
Especially on the LX-5, however if you don’t want to spend that much the LX-3 TC will do a great job for you also.
The LX-3 TC compared to the LX-3 is a crisper brighter display that also has more power, better interfearance rejection and better target seperation compared to a regular LX-3.
I have the new LX-3 TC and I love it, it’s like having last years model LX-5 without the dual cone transducer, they even have the red soft case like the LX-5 now.
    Hope this helps.

Exactly what I was looking for IL. Going out with my bro tomorrow am and will be using his LX-5.
