Marcum LX-5 transducer ?

I bought a used LX-5 this off season and got to use it and try to figure it out finally yesterday. When I was adjusting the cable stop/gimble (sp?) it wouldn’t slide very easy and it would keep bunching up the rubber coating around the cable. Is there a trick to these things that I am just not aware of?

Grip it so you can use your thumb to pry the adjuster open. There is a slit in the side of the adjuster. Just opening it a little will allow it to slide.

The transducer stop is in place to stop the cord from sliding so that it hangs at the proper depth. They are slotted for adjustments as the ice gets thicker.

Better yet, pry it open like Matt described, and use a little silicone or Teflon spray. It should slide a lot easier.

thanks guys, I wanted to make sure it could be done that way, I didn’t want to break it without knowing what I was doing!

I took mine off and driled the hole a little bigger and made the slot a little wider also.

    No…no…no…nothing you said.
Let us know how that works for you. (I use Remington Teflon Dry Lube.)

I wonder where this will appear?

On extremely cold days when the rubber stop seems to be harder place a quarter in the cut and use to open a little for making an adjustment, it will save on the thumb
