Does anyone know if a 54 inch shaft is long enough for a alumacraft dominator or will it come out of the water with big waves? Dealer says it is long enough , I was thinking 60inch would be better.

    Get the 60″.

My dealer tried to push a 54″ on me, it was like I was making a mistake by going 60″!

Your dealer just may not know and it’s a honest mistake?

Or, they’re one of those dealers that buy the 54″ motors in bulk to outfit the package boats. Bulk means a better price for them. So when they sell them, they make more money….these types of dealers will push that 54″ down your throat. Even though they know, the 60″ is a better fit.

Go with the 60” for sure. I have the Alumacraft 175 Navigator.
    Thanks, Bill

Might just be the sales person. I am looking at an Alumacraft Tournament Pro and was told I need the 60″. Also Hallburg Marine. Don’t think the boats are that much different.

If you know you’re going to be fishing in that kind of wind, always go with the longer one. You can always raise the motor if need be, but not the other way around if you go too short.

Probably. I bought my last boat there 10 years ago and got the best price around. I live in Waterloo IA and they even beat Starks price. Plus they are only 70 miles from where I have a place in Wis. I shipped them the electronics I wanted on the boat and they installed them for me. Great to deal with. The sales person I used was Randy Stevens.
