I have a lowrance X50ds, it is about a year old, and it started acting wierd recently. the transducer is mounted properly, and i have it set to auto config.
first off, if i get in water less then 6ft deep, a lot of times, it loses depth, and just flashes the last depth. I have to switch the unit to “manual” and then let it set for a second and then can switch it back, and it will lock back on.
second, when it is in auto, when i start getting to a depth that will make it change depth range on the display, it will read the depth, but the screen will have vertical lines running through it with the depth range chart on it. the only way to fix it is to switch the unit to “manual” and then back to “auto”. It will work for 10 minutes or so, and then i have to do the same thing.
also, the grayline is constantly changing way more then it should. it will show a correct grayline and then it will show an all solid black grayline. and the only way to fix it is to switch from Auto to Manual, and then back again.
is there something i need to adjust on this unit, or is it junk and it needs to go back to lowrance?
