Those of us with the F series yamahas know how messy the oil change can be…OIL EVERYWHERE! Here’s a little trick that was passed on to me. SLICK!
First, tilt the motor all the way up, pull the drain plug. Oil will not spew out as the motors tilted up. Insert 3/4″ ID hose into the rubber boot. The same type hose that’s on our livewell/bilge system. It slides in the boot nice and easy, and snugs up the farther up the boot you go. Tilt down to level, let it drain. Here’s a few pics to show.
