Evinrude yatchtwin outboard problem

    Greetings from New Zealand.

    I have a 1975 yatcht twin motor which developed an oil leak in the seal next to the water pump.When trying to get the drive shaft back in the splie would not engage.

    I tried moving the prop but still no joy.

    I removed the prop and undid the housing behind the prop but it seems reluctant to come off and I do not want to force it.

    Any suggestions on this problem would be appreciated. [email protected]
