I will be changing from a 12v to 24v system(70lb). I bought an AGM battery last year for the 12v system for about $130. Do I need to get two new batteries, or can I use the one that is only a year old? Also do I need an in-line fuse? It did not say to in the manual, but a friend said I should. Thanks.

    Just buy one more
I have had good luck so far.

Did same thing three years ago
    Like them AGM’s so far

Just charge em and forget em.

    No more baby sitting batteries
No aboard charge 4 me (I use the 12/24 volt plugs)

    As far 4 a fuse

U should use 50 amp breakers and 6 gauge wire

    Just my 2 cents

you want 2 batteries that are similar in use. when i put my minn kota trolling motor on it said to have 40 amp breaker on it. i think it would be alright with you using your old battery. im sure someone with more expertise will reply.

Yes just get a 2nd battery same as the first and one you shouldn’t notice any difference in performance. You should pick up an inline 50 amp breaker they hook up to the positive output terminal on your batery going to the Tmotor to protect the wiring in the boat and 6 ga wire is reccommened for best performance of the trolling motor. good luck Stan

Thanks guys. I have the 6ga. wire, and the new plug on the way. Also have a 2 bank on-board charger to install. Just gotta spring for one more battery and a 50 amp fuse. Thanks again. IDO never lets ya down .
