I’m posting this for a friend of mine. If anyone has any ideas or tips please pass them on.

I have a friend with one of these units and has been having some issues with it for sometime now.

What he finds is that it will run at reduced power. It runs smooth and does not puke fuel out while its doing this. The only way you can tell is that all of a sudden it will start to run at peak performance producing the kind of horsepower that it should.

The fuel filter has been changed, the carb is spotless as I have seen it apart and the plugs have been changed and they are the correct ones.

I was wondering since many of you guys do fish etc if you would have any idea on what would could be the common problem with these units. It would be alot easier if it would just run like crap all the time but that is not the case.

    Thanks

Check for a good seal between the carb and the engine. Could possibly be sucking in some extra air. Just a quick thought off the top of my head. Good luck !!!

Check the fuel lines to make sure there isnt any leaks.Does the fuel ball pump up and hold pressure?Sometimes these go bad.

How Old two stroke four stroke? Had a Evinrude that ran this way turned out to be weak coil pack. Would run great then loose power. Might go allday and not a problem next time out it would act up.
