I have a 2001 Lund Explorer that needs a new front deck because the floor has rotted out around the live well. I have checked with Lund and I am not the original owner of this boat so there is no warrenty. Lund did offer to replace the wood, this does not include the labor or carpet at a Lund dealer. There are several different grades of carpet to consider as well as vinyl. AT Cabela’s they have a Deco Dot Vinyl that is more slip resistant. I was wondering if anyone has tried Marine vinyl or the new Deco Dot Vinyl?
IDO member “jimbo” told me about a product at Menard’s that looks pretty good for flooring. They have 4′ x 8′ sheets of recycled plastic. They told me that you can do just about anything to these sheets that you can do with plywood, drill, screw, router, cut. The recycled sheets will not rot or worp. It looks like it is about 1/2″ thick and it runs $55 for a 4’X 8′ sheet. That is even a little less than marine grade plywood costs. I will let you know how this works. Thanks for any info, Battchief
