bought a new boat last week (well new to me anyways) It has a 5 blade prop on it, I beleive it is a 21 pitch the seller told me. I have a couple of questions:
(1) What are the advantages/disadvantages of 3 blade, 4 blade, and 5 blade props. Which one is typically better for hole shot, stability, speed, top end. (2) How do you tell where your boat should be running as far as RPM’s? Is there a “magic” number that I should be aware of or something to that extent?
I had a boat that I wasn’t really concerned about props, it got me where I needed to go and back, but this boat is newer and I would like to get the best setup I can. My knowledge of prop’s is pretty low and I know there are some great “experts” here.
