Has anyone had a chance to run one if so how are they. What I plan on doing is comparing 90 E-Tec to the new Merc. 90 HP Optimax. The winner will go on the on the back of my boat.

    Thanks

Not yet, but you may want to call 61 Marine and ask if they have any, I know they had some…651-437-3553

Have all dealers taken delivery of some of the new E-tec motors? I left my name and number at 2, HWY 61 included, and haven’t heard boo. I would like to try one.

    Rigger,
I have the E-Tec. I have about 5 hours on it so far and from what I have seen so far it is the real deal. Any questions that you might have I will try to answer. Nothing like having the power of a two stroke with the fuel effieciency, quietness, of a four stroke.

Hey Sean wait till you take it in for the 10 hour check.

I had them turn the RPMs down 150. I can now troll in reverse at 1MPH GPS with my 40 horse.

The only thing that I would suggest when it comes to E-Tecs and sizes is that you compare the differences. The only difference between a 40 and a 50 is the $750 chip that lets it run a few more RPMS and gets you 3-4 MPH. Was not worth the $ if you ask me, but you have to look at your individual needs.

I have fallen in love with mine.

Got about 25 hours on mine.

Will probably be out on the Croix Friday Kinny on down.

Crossin Eyes, try Ken Smith at Smittys Marine in Lake City, Mn. 1-651-345-3990. Chappy bought his there.
    Thanks, Bill

    Thanks Steve.
Haven’t figured out how to do that yet.
